IELTS Tips to boost your performance in all sections of the test

Before the recording begins, go through the questions for each section. It will ensure that you follow the recording well and identify the answers.
There are several clues to the stage of the recording you are hearing. They can be found in words like “to sum up”, “firstly” etc. Make note of them because they can tell you the question you have reached.

You can boost your performance in the reading test by practising with different types of texts in English. You will thus be able to read quickly and that can ease the stress of the test conditions.
The text in the test will definitely have the answers for your questions. You won’t have to rely on your own knowledge for it.

You have to understand the importance of using your own words because those copied from the question will not be counted.
You have to express yourself clearly to make your point understood in the essay for Academic Writing Task 2. Use the last paragraph for a conclusion, which should sum up the points you have made throughout the essay.

As your test is approaching, ensure that you get enough speaking practice in English. You can speak to your friends, either in person or on the phone, for practice. Recording yourself is also a good idea because it will help you discover where you need improvements. And, as you improve, your confidence will grow. The speaking test doesn’t have right or wrong answers. You will be assessed on how well you can express your thoughts and ideas in good English.
